White Widow cannabis seeds

White Widow is the best-known cannabis strain ever created in the Netherlands. In the early nineties it emerged from a cross of a Brazilian sativa landrace with a resinous Indian indica, and within a few years it won the High Times Cannabis Cup and sat in every coffeeshop. The name comes from the white, crystal-like layer of resin that covers the buds in the final weeks of flowering. This category holds every White Widow variant in our range, including our own Sneeuwwitje.

How do you grow White Widow?

White Widow is one of the most grateful plants there is. Indoors it stays at 80 to 110 cm, branches well and flowers in 8 to 9 weeks. It tolerates feeding mistakes and temperature swings and forms dense buds with lots of resin. Outdoors it grows up to two metres and finishes in October; it copes with a damp late summer, but a sheltered spot prevents mould in the dense buds. The autoflower version is the easiest outdoor choice, since it is ready in September. The yield is high: up to 550 to 600 grams per plant outdoors under good conditions.

Effect and taste

Earthy, spicy and resinous, with a light note of pine. The effect starts clear and uplifting thanks to the sativa side and then settles into the relaxation of the indica. At 18 to 20 percent THC White Widow is solid but easy to dose, which is why it has been the strain many people start with for thirty years.

What is the difference between White Widow and Sneeuwwitje?

Sneeuwwitje is our own selection from the same genetics, chosen for resin production and compact growth. Taste and effect are close to the original White Widow.

Is White Widow suitable for beginners?

Yes. It is sturdy, compact, fast and forgives mistakes. For a first grow the autoflower is the simplest option; the feminised version gives the highest yield.
