Runtz is the strain that took over the American market around 2019: a cross of Zkittlez and Gelato from Los Angeles, named after the candy, with a taste that genuinely reminds you of it. How do you grow Runtz?
Runtz is a balanced hybrid that reaches 90 to 150 cm indoors and branches well; topping and a scrog net help raise the yield. Flowering takes 8 to 10 weeks. The plant is not difficult, but the dense, resinous buds need low humidity in the final weeks. The purple and pink colours come out best with cool nights. Outdoors in northern Europe Runtz is only an option in a warm spot with harvest in October; the autoflowers finish in September and are the sensible outdoor choice.
Effect and taste
Candy-sweet, fruity and creamy, with tropical fruit and berries. The effect is strong and balanced: cheerful and euphoric at first, then calm and relaxed without switching you off completely. Because of the high THC content this is a strain for experienced users.
